Personally, I like my warlock. Long range attacks are good, at well as damage over time spells. Warlocks are the best class for soloing, statistically. Of course, with the right gear, you can solo with any class. Keep in mind, with a Warlock, you get a free mount (felseed) at level 40. If you’ve played wow before, then you probably know this, but I’m just putting in my two cents.

you should go a warlock or mage for farming frost mages can aoe grind and kill about 5-10 things at once if you know how to play and a sl/sl spec lock and kill things in a matter of seconds
I heard trolls make the best hunters, assuming your gonna be horde. I got a blood elf hunter and I think he is the best of all classes.
